Best Wireless Mouse

1. BEST OVERALL WIRELESS MOUSE

MX Master 3 Wireless Mouse

Logitech MX Master 3 Wireless Mouse

PROS
  • Ergonomic
  • Highly customizable
CONS
  • May be too large for small-sized bands

Key Specs:

  • Max DPI: 4,000 DPI
  • Battery: Rechargeable, 70-day battery charge
  • Number of Buttons: 7

The Logitech MX Master 3 is the best wireless mouse that money can buy. It’s customizable and comfortable, and it works on any surface. During our tests, I found that its rechargeable battery lasts for over a month on a single charge. The mouse can pair with up to three devices, and it easily switches from Mac to PC, thanks to its nifty Flow feature.

Both my co-technology editor, Stefan Vazharov, and I use this mouse on the daily. His favorite feature is the mouse’s electromagnetic scrolling wheel, which is fast, insanely precise, and ideal for work. This part is crafted from steel, so it has a quality finish.

Really, my only complaint about the mouse is its relatively expensive price, but trust me: It’s worth splurging for!

2. BEST ERGONOMICS

MX Vertical Wireless Mouse

Logitech MX Vertical Wireless Mouse

PROS
  • Impressive battery life
  • Connects over Bluetooth or USB
CONS
  • Takes some time to get used to

Key Specs:

  • Max DPI: 4,000 DPI
  • Battery: Rechargeable, 4-month battery charge
  • Number of Buttons: 6

Tired of wrist and hand cramps after sitting at your desk all day? The MX Vertical from Logitech may be able to help alleviate your pain. Although the mouse looks a little strange, it’s easy to use and feels very natural.

You grip it with your hand in a natural handshake position, and the mouse will prevent your wrist from cramping up. My tests found that the mouse delivers 4 months of battery life. It works with both Windows and Mac computers, and pairs wirelessly over Bluetooth or with the included USB receiver. It’s rechargeable, has a speedy scroll wheel , and will complement a standing desk setup wonderfully.

3. MOST COMPACT WIRELESS MOUSE

Arc Wireless Mouse

Microsoft Arc Wireless Mouse

PROS
  • Comfortable for left-handed use
CONS
  • Feels more like a trackpad than a mouse

Key Specs:

  • Max DPI: 1,000 DPI
  • Battery: 2 x AAA, 6-month battery charge
  • Number of Buttons: 2

Available in a number of colors — from basic black to blue, red, pink, and sage — the Microsoft Arc is a thoughtfully designed mouse that’s a perfect match for trackpad lovers.

It works as both a mouse and touch-sensitive trackpad, so you can easily scroll vertically or horizontally. It’s compact and portable, able to fold down for easy transport, and is great for both left- or right-handed users.

Tester Danielle St. Pierre used the mouse for a few weeks and said that it’s a good option for folks who have small hands. She added that it takes some getting used to, since it’s basically one large trackpad without any separation between sides for left- and right-clicking. But, if you’re looking for a sleek, ergonomic, and modern mouse, you’ll love it!

4. BEST TRACKBALL MOUSE

ERGO M575 Wireless Trackball Mouse

Logitech ERGO M575 Wireless Trackball Mouse

PROS
  • Robust design
CONS
  • Trackball takes some getting used to

Key Specs:

  • Max DPI: 2,000 DPI
  • Battery: Rechargeable, 24-month battery charge
  • Number of Buttons: 3

This ergonomic pick isn’t a typical slide-along-the-desk mouse. Instead, to move your computer’s cursor, you use your thumb to control the trackball. When I tested this mouse, it took me a couple of days to get used to it. However, it’s easy to grip, it doesn’t feel too cumbersome, and it’s powered by a single AA battery.

The mouse connects to your Mac or PC in one of two ways — over Bluetooth or with the included USB receiver. I like that it has easy-to-reach back and forward buttons, which really come in handy when you’re endlessly surfing the internet.

I also appreciate its angled scroll wheel, which is comfortable to use for reading even the longest PDFs. The ERGO M575 offers 2 years of battery life, and is available in either black or white.

5. RELIABLE YET AFFORDABLE

M720 Triathlon Wireless Mouse

Logitech M720 Triathlon Wireless Mouse

PROS
  • Highly portable
CONS
  • Isn’t rechargeable

Key Specs:

  • Max DPI: 1,000 DPI
  • Battery: 1 x AA, 24-month battery charge
  • Number of Buttons: 8

A Wirecutter best overall pick, the Triathlon from Logitech connects to your PC or Mac over Bluetooth or an included USB dongle. You can pair it to up to three different devices. It also has six customizable buttons, 2 years of battery life, and a comfortable design.

Users who need to zip through long documents will appreciate its hyper-fast scroll wheel. This mouse only comes in black, and it’s powered by an AA battery.

6. BEST GAMING MOUSE

G502 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Mouse

Logitech G502 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Mouse

PROS
  • Compatible with Mac and PC
  • Accurate sensor
CONS
  • Uses microUSB for charging
  • Heavy

Key Specs:

  • Max DPI: 25,600 DPI
  • Battery: Rechargeable, 60-hour battery charge
  • Number of Buttons: 11

The perfect gaming mouse needs to have sensitive sensors, plenty of adjustable buttons, swappable parts, and good ergonomics. This mouse offers all that and then some. It’s the wireless version of the beloved G502 HERO gaming mouse, one of our former top picks.

This mouse is equipped with Logitech’s latest HERO 16K sensor, and it has 11 customizable buttons. It’s one of the most responsive and accurate mice I’ve ever used. I love that it includes adjustable weights for personalized balance, as well as customizable RGB lighting. Its metal scrolling wheel is also a joy to interact with, both in game mode or while surfing the web.

Besides its relatively high price point, our only qualm with the G502 LIGHTSPEED is that it charges over Micro-USB instead of USB-C. Fortunately, it gets up to 60 hours of battery life, so you shouldn’t have any problems using it for a weekend of gaming. If the price is an issue, though, I also recommend the Logitech G703 LIGHTSPEED.
